Hello intersectional thinkers 👋
Greetings from Vancouver. Seems like you enjoy the new format!
1 unexpected intersection
1 paradox
1 visual Zettelkasten
To celebrate, I found an intersectional joke to start us off:
1 unexpected intersection:
Three wise men gather around a jar of vinegar.
The first one, Su Dong Po 苏东坡, a well-versed Confucius disciple says,
“This vinegar is sour. A perfect metaphor life. The acidity shall be countered with strong ethics acquired through rigorous teachings.”
The second wise man, Fu Yin the Buddhist monk 佛印和尚, goes in for a taste and says
“Ah, the vinegar is bitter. Like suffering. A perfect metaphor for life. We shall strive for enlightenment – a pure state of mind - and leave the suffering behind.”
The third, Huang Ting Jian 黄庭坚, a Taoist poet says,
“Ah the sweet, sweet vinegar. A perfect metaphor for life. Live in balance with the world through yin and yang, and you’ll realize there is no sour without sweet.”
The three wise men all laughed, scrunching their faces from too much vinegar.
1 paradox:
The Ship of Theseus paradox.
If you replaced all wooden parts of a ship, is it still the same ship?
Or, if you leveled up your mind, your body, your spirit, are you still the same you?
1 visual Zettelkasten:
Have a great week!

Love your visual Zettelkastens! The writing from conversation is so true. Conversations also help me regurgitate and understand what I've just read or listened to. Last night I was talking to Jaime about the concept of play I heard on the Huberman Lab podcast. She listened… then said: my head hurts… LOL, I guess I need to ponder on how to explain that concept better!
I love the vinegar elders 😂 how do you find this stuff?
